Now listen my people and listen well.
There’s a special story I’ve got to tell about
Susan B. Anthony, Susan B. Anthony

Two hundred* years ago, A little girl was born while it snowed.
Her name was Susan B. Anthony, Susan B. Anthony

She grew big and she grew wise, And she knew she was as able as the guys,
Her name was Susan B. Anthony, Susan B. Anthony

But in her day, I’m sad to say, Blacks and women weren’t treated okay,
Until Susan B. Anthony, Susan B. Anthony

Black people were owned by whites, And women did not have basic rights
Until Susan B. Anthony, Susan B. Anthony

Women could not vote, they could not speak, And their own children, they could not keep
Until Susan B. Anthony, Susan B. Anthony

But Susan knew that this was wrong,
She worked her whole life to change the song.
That’s Susan B. Anthony, Susan B. Anthony

She was brave and she was wise.
She helped the people organize!!!!
That’s Susan B. Anthony, Susan B. Anthony

With her help, we found the space to be treated fairly, The whole human race.
That’s Susan B. Anthony, Susan B. Anthony

Women won the vote, but after her time had come.
She helped us fight for freedom
That’s Susan B. Anthony, Susan B. Anthony

So let us remember on this day, an important woman.
What do you say? Susan B. Anthony, Susan B. Anthony

*Susan was born in Adams, Massachusetts on February 15, 1820 to a Quaker family. She taught school to support her family of origin, then began her life of activism, first to abolish slavery and then to gain political rights for women.
