Fox News reporter Trey Yingst says the fighting between Israel and Hamas is nowhere close to being finished as tensions continue to escalate in the region.

Rockets have been fired into Israel from Hamas militants in response to an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip which killed dozens of Palestinians including nine children.

Israeli media is reporting alert sirens are sounding in the city of Tel Aviv urging residents to seek immediate shelter.

“This is a situation that is quickly unravelling into something much worse than anticipated,” Mr Yingst told Sky News.

“It’s nowhere close to being finished.”

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has threatened more airstrikes despite the UN calling for an immediate end to the escalating conflict.
